Hi,
If anybody was interested. Attached is an updated version of my "dark
pascal" syntax highlighter theme.
Changes in this version
----------------------------------
* Background color is now controlled by .sdef file
* Fixed some missing highlighting of specific symbols.
* Minor color tweaks.

Settings for the form layout of MSEIDE should not stored in the
project. Because if we make a project with a layout that we make to a
wide screen, and then opened by someone else with a smaller screen,
the layout that we make a mess.
Thanks

Hi Friends,
I have created a table and was able to INSERT data into .db file.BUT am facing syntax problem to use SELECT to retreive data from .db file.. Anybody please get me the syntax of SELECT...Below is a part of my code..
procedure tmainfo.btnSave(const sender: TObject);
begin
writeln('Creating ClaSS');
MySQL:=TSQLite.Create('TurretTest.db');
SQL:='CREATE TABLE TurretTable1(TurretNum int,UserName int);';
MySQL.Query(sql, nil);
SQL:='CREATE TABLE TurretTable2(ID1 int,Name1 text);';
MySQL.Query(sql, nil);
SQL := 'INSERT INTO TurretTable1 Values("'+val2+'","'+IntToStr(val1)+'");';
MySQL.Query(sql, nil);
//////Below is the Problem Part//////
procedure tmainfo.btnSelect(const sender: TObject);
begin
SQL:='SELECT * FROM TurretTable1 ;';
MySQL.Query(sql, nil);
MySQL.Free;
end;

Hi all,
how should I use the tmsesqltransaction around tsqlresult?
In strictly read only case.
For example:
transaction1.active:= true; <-- is this needed at all?
tsqlresult1.active:= true;
mosthet:= tsqlresult1.cols[0].asinteger;
mostnap:= tsqlresult1.cols[1].asinteger-1;
tsqlresult1.active:= false;
transaction1.active:= false; <-- and this?
Thanks
Zsolt

I'm using MSEide more and more in my daily work and so far it performs
fine under 64-bit Linux (previous I used 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS).
Some things to note which I hope can be improved on in future:
* MSEide config screen must show ${Target} as i386-linux even though I am
using 64-bit Linux. This now means I can't use ${Target} macro in compiler
or unit paths and have to define new custom macros per project.
* Debugging still shows memory addresses instead of actual content,
but this is
a general FPC+GDB isssue.

Hello @Martin & @Graeme,
I have tried out this Open wire approach in the trial version of Video
Lab and Signal Lab of Mitov Software in Delphi 6 as well as 2006.
I have liked this approach a lot as it reduces many lines of code for us
developers.
It is unfortunate that in spite of Open Wire being open source no
component developer has adopted it in their component designing in
Delphi community.
While you both are at developing good controls as well as framework can
you look into this idea and implement in your own respective products?
Please check Open Wire (http://www.mitov.com/html/openwire.html)
As this is open source it should not post any legal problems. In fact
the owner of Mitov is very co-operative and will help you also if you
ask for help of course. ;)
Just my 2 cents.

1) values of calculated fields of the query don't clear on
query.ApplyUpdates & query.Edit :
dso_autocommit:= true, separate writetransaction
2) calculated fields of the query disappeared after replacing fldOfficeCode
& fldRegionCode from memo type to string type,
me had to restore these fields manually.

Currently, StringEnter doesn't provide "password char",
and CheckPassword only performs comparision interanlly.
Also, a good option woul be a callback function as optional parameter of
CheckPassword to perform external check.
PS:
Me'm playing with MD5 password storage, smth like :
//------------------------
function pswencode(const avalue: widestring): widestring;
var
mdg: TMDDigest;
i: integer;
begin
mdg:= MDString(avalue,MD_VERSION_5);
setlength(result,length(mdg));
for i:=1 to length(result) do begin
case i of
2: mdg[i-1]:= i and mdg[i-1] or i;
[...]
end;
if mdg[i-1] < 127 then mdg[i-1]:= 255-mdg[i-1];
result[i]:= char(mdg[i-1]);
end;
end;
//------------------------

- create a (default) project
- add a datamodule: DM1
- add a datamodule: DM2
- add a simple form: form1
- on the main form:
= add a button
= assign to the button ONEXECUTE handler: at me it creates
"tdm2.{handler}" instead
Before creating handler, DM2 was last visited & not saved (*), and mainfo
was the current page of the editor.
Seems to disapper after 1-st building the project.

There are more and more computers with windows vista out there and the
XPS printer that comes by default is a good previewer for anything sent
to the printer, but sadly treport doesn't work with it.
I reported it sometime ago and the issue remain there, I even did some
tests printing direct to gdiprinter and it works fine but through
treport it doesn't, REPAZ and LazReport works fine too with XPS printers.
Anyone did some advance on this issue ?

in the attachment (needs Linux & "/home/pochta" directory to run), the idea
implemented may be helpful for someone, me hope :)
Had to be designed since the PODPISKA doesn't use CommitRetaining anymore as
long as has many tightly dependant queryes open simultaneously.

On my way up the learning code, I just discovered that the tdbstringgrid
automatically parses the escape character (\), thus making stringgrids
much more usefull.
So yes Ivanko, I begin to understand what you mean about saving time.
Great job Martin :-))

Smth like the below code for OnChanges of
datalink.dataset.filedbyname(datalink.datafield) field:
//-----------------------------
procedure tdmmainmo.companychanged(Sender: TField);
begin
with dropdown.lookupbuffer.datasource.dataset do begin
locate(sender.asinteger,fieldbyname('bound_field'));
end;
end;
//-----------------------------
where sender if datalink.dataset.filedbyname(datalink.datafield) and
'bound_field' belongs to dropdown.lookupbuffer.datasource.dataset.
It greatly simplifies things when there's a need to sync a choice with the
dataset suppliying the choices
- smth like the grid behaviour.

The below code doesn't create the file:
//--------------------------
f1:= tosysfilepath(fneDumpFile.value);
if not findfile(f1) then
if filecreate(f1) = -1 then begin
showmessage('A file to dump to must be specified!','NO FILE');
exit;
end;
//--------------------------
the below code doesn't too;
//------------------
f1:= tosysfilepath(fneDumpFile.value);
if (not findfile(f1)) and (filecreate(f1) = -1) then begin
showmessage('A file to dump to must be specified!','NO FILE');
exit;
end;
//--------------------------
but the below does:
//--------------------------
f1:= tosysfilepath(fneDumpFile.value);
if not findfile(f1) then begin
h1:= filecreate(f1);
if h1 = -1 then begin
showmessage('A file to dump to must be specified!','NO FILE');
exit;
end;
end;
//--------------------------
A bug ?
